Provisional Room Bookings
We are delighted to hold a provisional booking for you for a maximum of ten days, unless otherwise agreed by the hotel. During this time, should a further enquiry be received, we reserve the right to ask for immediate confirmation.
All bookings are considered provisional until the client has received a confirmation email from the hotel. The hotel reserves the right to release any provisional reservation
It is the policy of the hotel for all take credit card details for all bookings and all accounts must be settled in full on the day of departure. Accounts cannot be forwarded to companies without prior arrangement and agreed credit checks.
Clients not having credit facilities with the hotel must settle all outstanding charges in full on departure. If credit has been granted, full payment of any outstanding balance must be made within 28 days. Any queries will not affect the immediate payment of the remainder of the account. After this date we reserve the right to charge interest on the outstanding balance at the rate of 5%.
Amendments, Cancellations and Reduction in Numbers
In the unfortunate circumstances that you have to cancel your confirmed booking the hotel will require a full 24-hour period of notice. Anything thereafter the 24 hours period the hotel reserves the right to deduct the first nights’ accommodation from the given credit card.
Any guest who fails to arrive without notice will be charged at the full rate for the duration of the stay.
Amendments or Cancellation by the Hotel
The hotel reserves the right to cancel any booking forthwith or reserves the right to offer alternative facilities without any responsibility on its part in the event of any occurrence beyond the reasonable control of the hotel, which shall prevent it from performing its obligations in connection with the booking. If the booking might in the opinion of the hotel prejudice the reputation of the hotel. If the client is more than 30 days in arrears of previous payments to the hotel. If the hotel becomes aware of any alterations in the client’s financial situation.
Prices and payment
Prices for our products may change from time to time, but changes will not affect any order which we have confirmed.
Prices shown against each product listed:
- Are inclusive of vat where applicable.
- Not inclusive of a service charge.
Any products highlighted as being subject to a promotional price have previously been available at the higher indicated price on this website, other websites or at The George Hotel.
We accept all major credit cards.
When the order is placed for a room at our website, your booking and payment are handled by the Best Western Hotel Group. We do not hold your credit card details on our computer systems or on paper.
Any refunds to you will be made to the credit card or debit card used by you to pay. There is lots more information on the information we do keep further down in How We Use Your Information & GDPR
All charges are inclusive of UK VAT at whichever rate is applicable. You are able to ask for a VAT receipt for any items purchased & paid for.

Intellectual Property Rights
In plain English – you are not allowed to use change or copy any of the wording, pictures or behind the scenes computer coding you find on this website, the only exception being that you print a hard copy of something you find on the website for you own private use, but not for commercial reasons.

You are welcome to print hard copies of material from 'the site' solely for your lawful, personal and non-commercial use. All other copying in whatever form, whether electronic, hard copy or any other format or use for commercial purposes without our prior written consent, is prohibited. All other rights are reserved.

You may not engage in any price scraping or price harvesting in respect of products on 'the site' without our prior written consent.
On 25th May 2018 a new law known as GDPR will come into effect giving you greater control of your own data. We have put things in place to make it easy for you to inspect the data we hold on you or to remove the data totally.
Obviously it is necessary for us to collect some data about you in order to take your order, payment and delivery instructions - so some re-assurances. We will endeavour to ensure the information we hold will be accurate and up to date. If you find any inaccuracies let us know and we will correct your record or delete it if you wish.
The personal information which we hold will be stored securely in accordance with our internal security policies and the law. We will transfer your data to Mailchimp for the purpose of sending out newsletters, Mailchimp is a dedicated and very secure platform and will not share the data elsewhere.
Room bookings made on our website are handled by Alacer – you can contact them on email: firstname.lastname@example.org to find out what data they hold about you.
Any rooms booked through 3rd party sites such as Booking.com will have their own Data policies. Please contact the booking company you used to find out more.
We will not disclose any of the details we hold to any other third party; to be clear - we obviously have to tell the postman / courier the address you gave us if we are posting you vouchers etc - but that is about as far as our info sharing goes.
You can unsubscribe by clicking the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of any email we send you. We will not e-mail you any marketing material in the future if you unsubscribe.
You can do also do the following:
- Request to see the data we hold that about you
- Request that we delete all the data we hold about you
- In the event that you have made a purchase of goods from our website or venue, we will not be able to delete you records for 12months form the date of purchase.
- Update the information we hold about you (change of address etc)
